Intern Get-Away

21 04 2008

For those of you who don’t know, the intern team including Travis are going to New Orleans for our mission trip. I am so excited!!! Even though all of you will truly be missed, I’m stoked! We are going to help build houses for the victums of Hurricane Katrina. Believe it or not, there is still A LOT of work to be done. Which is kind of supriseing. But God told Danielle this morning that He is going to being healing  to them. And we’re being His hands. And within being His hands, He is revealing His healing within us too. Yahoo! I’m stoked! Please also pray for us! Thanks! See you all in one week! Be Blessed!

DSW Scariness

8 04 2008

Sunday working was probably the most interesting, and scary nights ever! Ok so here it is, I was assigned to make boxes for the shoes who didn’t have any boxes and bring them up to the front to be stickered for clearance. So, I went in the back room to work on my task.  When all of a sudden, I heard this BIG boom from the upstairs storage part. I thought Kayla was working up there because she was putting athletic accessories out on the floor, and that is where they are stored. I said in the walkie,  “Man Kayla, you sure are making a lot of noise  up there.” She replied, “I’m not upstairs, I’m out on the floor. Don’t you know that the back stock room is haunted?” “Yeah right, Kayla. You got me, ha ha ha.” “No, I’m serious, it is. No one ever believes me.” Then, I started to believe her.

So, as I worked afflictively but quickly, I heard more noises. But not only from the upstairs but from the room where you turn off all the lights in. So, I decided to recruit another co-worker, to a) get it done faster and b) so I won’t have to be in the back room alone. I found Jill and she agreed. About a minute after we returned, we started to hear the door by the big loading door, moving in and out but not dramatically, but enough to think that someone was coming in and out. Jill said, “It has to be the wind.” I give her a look of doubt. “Well, thats what I’m telling myself.” “What if your wrong? Are you going to go check it out?” “Heck no!” she said quickly. “Well, let’s just get this done soon so we can get out of here.” Soon after, we finished. Now our next task, getting a cart to put all the shoes on so it would be easier to carry them all to the front. The big one was but the room which some of the noises were coming out of. So, we found a smaller cart but we decided that we HAD to make it work. So we pilled all the boxes on the cart and tried to get out of the room as quick as possible. We got out of the doors okay but as soon as we got 10 feet away from the back room all the boxes fell off the cart and onto the floor.

So we find another associate to go grab the big cart as we pick up the ones on the floor. She had no idea what was going on, so we figured that it would work. She comes back and finally we bring them up to the front. Now we had to find the right percent color sticker and a printer so it could be scanned by the gun and printed through the printer. We went up to my manager and asked her where the other printer was. She said in the back room. Dun Dun Dun! Unwillingly, Jill and I went back into the back room to go look for it like we were told. So, we looked everywhere else except by the room, not leaving each other’s side if I might add. So finally, we start to walk over by the room, still looking for the printer. Immediately, it got really cold. So cold, I got goosebumps. Then all of a sudden, there was this huge BOOM from the upstairs and room at the same time. Needless to say, I screamed and we both ran out of the back room. And keep in mind that this all happened when the store was still OPEN! Looking back on it, it makes me kinda chuckle but I’m still not going back into that back room……they can’t make me……ok I won’t go alone.

Journey is done

23 03 2008

YAY! But I’m kinda sad. I’m happy because the hard work and long nights are over. Now, it’s time to go back to normal schedule. Good for stability but bad because now I have to go back to work. Journey was life changing for me, and everyone who went through it. My mom went, and she is unsaved and she was speechless after she got done with it. Which doesn’t hapen very often. God is pleased not only with those who worked hard on it, but with everyone who went through. It was great, most of the time. But I will be the first to say that I am happy it’s over. :)

Set up time

13 03 2008

So, now it is finally here. Set up time for Journey To The Cross. I’m split, I’m excited but not. I’m excited because so many people are coming and probably more. Right now, it is aat about 400 people. Cool! I’m excited to build and work my butt off for God. Last year it was so amazing, and I’m just so excited to actucally be apart of it and experience it like no one else. What I am not looking forward to is the late nights. I will have to PRAY a lot! Because I’m not a very nice person when I am tired. So, I’ll just have to keep myself in check. God, please help me.
